Hygrophila 'Chai' is a delicate pink-to-peach aquarium stem plant for experienced planted-tank keepers. It is a demanding selection that generally needs high lighting, stable injected CO₂, consistent nutrients, and carefully maintained growing conditions for healthy submerged growth and attractive coloration.
Care at a glance
Care level: Advanced / demanding
Lighting: High, with careful control to avoid algae
CO₂: Stable supplementation strongly recommended; not a dependable choice for typical low-tech aquariums
Nutrients: Consistent balanced fertilization
Placement: Foreground to midground accent
Growth: May be slow or unstable when conditions vary; allow time to acclimate
Pink coloration and compact growth depend on overall plant health, lighting, nutrition, and CO₂ balance. This is not recommended as a first plant for beginners.
