🐠 Shipping & Orders
Do you ship live fish?
At this time, Tropical Treasures Wyo is no longer shipping live fish or live livestock. Freshwater fish, shrimp, snails, and other live animals are available for in-store purchase or local pickup only at our Cheyenne, Wyoming store.
Why did you stop shipping live fish?
We made this decision to better protect the health of our fish and livestock. Shipping delays, weather changes, carrier issues, and time in transit can create unnecessary stress and risk for live animals. We want customers to receive healthy livestock and feel confident in their purchase.
Can I still order fish online?
Yes, when available, live fish may still be listed online for local pickup or in-store purchase. Please make sure your aquarium is cycled and ready before purchasing livestock.
Do you ship plants and dry goods?
Yes, live aquatic plants, dry goods, fish food, filters, heaters, aquarium supplies, and select non-livestock items may still be available for shipping when eligible.
How are dry goods and plant orders shipped?
Eligible dry goods, aquarium supplies, and live plant orders may be shipped using available carrier options based on the order, location, and weather conditions. Live plants may be delayed during extreme temperatures to help protect them during transit.
When will my order ship?
Eligible dry goods and plant orders typically ship Monday through Thursday, excluding holidays. Shipping times may vary based on product availability, weather, and carrier schedules.
Which mail services do you use?
We may use UPS, FedEx, or other available carriers depending on your address and the items ordered.
Note: UPS and FedEx do not deliver to PO Boxes. Please provide a physical shipping address when placing an order.
Can you hold my order?
We generally cannot hold livestock orders. Please make sure your aquarium is cycled, stable, and ready before purchasing fish or other live animals for local pickup.
Can you cancel my order?
Orders may be canceled if they have not yet been processed, packed, or fulfilled. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or adjust an order.
🐟 Receiving Your Fish
How do I acclimate my new fish after local pickup?
Our pH runs around 7.4. Here is our recommended acclimation process:
- Float the sealed bag in your aquarium for 15–20 minutes to help match temperature.
- Open the bag and gently pour the fish and bag water into a clean container.
- Slowly add small amounts of your aquarium water to the container over about 20 minutes.
- Place a net over another container, pour the fish into the net, and gently transfer the fish into your aquarium.
Note: This helps keep bag water from entering your aquarium. If you already have a preferred acclimation method, you may use the method that works best for your setup.
Why doesn’t my fish look like the photo on your website?
Fish may temporarily lose color due to stress from transport, being bagged, or moving into a new aquarium. Once acclimated and comfortable in a stable tank, many fish will regain their color. Photos on our site are taken of healthy fish in stable conditions.
Can you sex my fish?
Most of our fish are sold as juveniles or unsexed unless otherwise stated. You may request a sex preference in the order notes or by contacting us. We will do our best to accommodate requests, but sexing is not guaranteed.

Where can I buy your fish?
Fish and other livestock can be purchased in-store at Tropical Treasures Wyo in Cheyenne, Wyoming. When available online, livestock may be purchased for local pickup only.
How are fish listed online?
Stock may be organized by category, with options for packs, pairs, or quantity when available.
Example: Choosing Pack of 3 with quantity 2 equals 6 total fish.
Most fish are juveniles or unsexed unless otherwise stated.
Do you quarantine your fish?
Yes. Every fish we sell is quarantined and carefully cared for before sale. We monitor livestock closely so customers can shop with confidence.
Where is Tropical Treasures Wyo located?
Tropical Treasures Wyo is located at 190 S College Dr, Cheyenne, WY. We are Cheyenne’s local aquarium shop for freshwater fish, shrimp, live aquatic plants, aquarium supplies, and expert advice.
