Tank Setup and Tank Mates

Provide a mature planted aquarium with fine sand or smooth substrate, hiding places, gentle to moderate flow, and consistent water quality. These rams are sensitive to sudden changes and are not recommended for newly established tanks. Suitable companions include peaceful, warm-water community fish such as cardinal tetras and rummy nose tetras. Avoid aggressive, fin-nipping, or cool-water species. Rams can defend territories when pairing or breeding.

Feeding

Offer small portions of quality sinking micro pellets and a varied diet that may include frozen brine shrimp, daphnia, or bloodworms. Remove uneaten food to protect water quality.
