Tank Setup & Tank Mates
Provide smooth sand or fine, rounded substrate to protect their sensitive barbels, gentle hiding spots, open bottom space for foraging, and good filtration with oxygen-rich water. Sunburst Orange Corys are active, curious fish that feel more secure in groups. They can live with peaceful, similarly sized community fish such as tetras, rasboras, peaceful livebearers, and other compatible corydoras. Avoid aggressive or predatory tank mates.
Feeding Tips
These fish forage along the substrate, but they are not a substitute for aquarium cleaning and cannot live on leftover flakes alone. Offer a dedicated sinking diet and make sure food reaches them when faster fish feed above. Feed only what your fish can consume and remove uneaten food.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are Sunburst Orange Corys naturally fluorescent?
Yes. GloFish® Corys inherit their fluorescent color from their parents. They are not injected or dyed.
Should I keep just one?
No. Corydoras are social fish. Although the GloFish manufacturer notes groups of three or more, we recommend a group of six or more where tank size allows.
Do I need a blue light?
No. They are colorful under ordinary aquarium lighting; blue LEDs enhance their fluorescent appearance.
Do these corys eat algae?
They may investigate surfaces while searching for food, but they are not reliable algae eaters and require their own balanced diet.
