Choosing This Substrate
Consider the actual grain size and texture when selecting a substrate for bottom-dwelling, burrowing, or sand-sifting species. A decorative substrate is not a complete nutrient source for rooted aquatic plants, which may need root tabs or other fertilization. Do not assume identical suitability for every aquarium species.
Water Chemistry and Setup
Follow the current package instructions for any rinsing, recommended depth, and preparation. While this product is sold as freshwater aquarium substrate, test water parameters when establishing or changing a tank rather than relying on an absolute guarantee that substrate can never affect chemistry.
Care
Add carefully to minimize clouding and maintain the substrate with gentle siphoning as appropriate. Keep soap and household detergents away from all aquarium materials.
