Aquarium Co-Op Carbon-Infused Media Pad combines activated carbon chemical filtration with a cut-to-fit filter pad. It can help reduce tannins, discoloration, odors, and some dissolved impurities while also trapping suspended debris.
Product Details
Full pad dimensions: 17.5 × 9.8 inches (supplied folded in half)
Type: Carbon-infused chemical and mechanical filter media
Fit: Cut to fit compatible hang-on-back, canister, or sump filter compartments
How to Use
Measure your filter compartment before trimming. Place the pad where aquarium water flows through it, generally after coarse mechanical filtration. Activated carbon can remove some medications, so remove carbon media during medication treatment unless the medication instructions say otherwise.
Replacement
Replace the pad when its carbon becomes exhausted or it no longer performs as expected. There is no universal 3–4 week replacement interval; useful life depends on the substances in the water and the amount of pad used. Spent carbon cannot be restored by simply rinsing it.
