Angel - Black Copper

The Black Copper Angelfish is an eye-catching selectively bred freshwater angelfish with dark coloration and copper-toned highlights. Individual patterning, color intensity, and fin shape can vary.

• Scientific name: Pterophyllum scalare (domestic color variety)
• Adult size: Approximately 6 inches in body length, with significantly greater height including fins
• Recommended aquarium: 30 gallons or larger for one adult; choose a taller, larger aquarium for groups
• Temperature: 76–82°F
• pH: 6.5–7.8, with stable water conditions
• Temperament: Semi-aggressive; may become territorial, particularly when pairing or breeding
• Diet: Omnivore; quality flakes or pellets supplemented with frozen or live foods
• Tank mates: Peaceful, appropriately sized community fish; avoid fin nippers and very small fish or shrimp that could be eaten

Provide a fully cycled, well-filtered aquarium with ample vertical swimming room, plants, driftwood, and quiet retreats. Maintain consistent water quality, and monitor interactions as angelfish mature.
