Loach Care Tips
Most loaches are social and do best in groups of five or more, where they school, play, and feel secure. Give them a soft sandy substrate or smooth gravel so they can sift without scratching their delicate barbels, and provide plenty of caves, driftwood, and live plants for cover. Always cycle your tank fully before adding loaches, since they're sensitive to ammonia and nitrite spikes. A varied diet of quality sinking foods, frozen treats, and the occasional blanched vegetable helps support a varied diet.

Peaceful loaches can work well with tetras, rasboras, guppies, and other calm community fish.
