This domesticated molly variety features a striking silver‑platinum sheen and a large sail-like dorsal fin in males, making it a standout in community aquariums. The majestic fin and metallic body are especially eye-catching in well-lit tanks. 

🏡 Care Requirements

• Tank Size: Minimum 30 gallons (≈100 L) for optimal health and fin development. Temperature: 72–79 °F (22–26 °C) — tropical temperatures promote active growth. pH: 6.5–8.5 with moderate to high GH (15–35 dGH) to support hardness preference. 
• Water Type: Can thrive in freshwater or lightly brackish tanks; softer or acidic water may impair coloration and fin development.

🥗 Diet & Nutrition

• Omnivorous Appetite: Enjoys algae, flakes, pellets, frozen/live foods such as brine shrimp or daphnia. Their natural tendency helps control algae growth. 
• Feeding Tip: Offer small feedings 1–2 times daily; supplement with spirulina or blanched vegetables for balanced nutrition. 

🐠 Behavior & Compatibility

• Temperament: Generally peaceful and sociable, best kept in groups of 6 or more; males may show mild dominance behavior. 
• Suitable Tankmates: Corydoras, Danios, Rasboras, Platies, Dwarf Gouramis, Cherry Barbs, and Loaches. Avoid aggressive or fin-nipping species. 

🫧 Breeding & Lifespan

• Livebearer Species: Gestation lasts ~3–4 weeks; females can produce multiple broods without re-mating. Fry counts range widely (10–140 per spawn).
• Care for Fry: Provide dense planting or use a breeder trap; adults may predate fry if not given hiding spaces.
• Lifespan: Up to 3–5 years with proper care, depending on sex and environmental quality. Males often shorter-lived due to energy used in courtship and display.
