Golden Shiners are hardy, peaceful schooling fish often used as baitfish or introduced into ponds, but they can also thrive in large aquariums. They are known for their shimmering golden coloration and active, graceful swimming behavior.

Care Requirements:

• Tank Size: 30+ gallons (preferably in schools of 6+)
• Temperature: 50–77°F (10–25°C)
• pH: 6.5–8.0
• Diet: Omnivorous — flake food, pellets, algae, insects, and plant matter
• Behavior: Peaceful; best kept in schools
• Max Size: Up to 12 inches (typically smaller in aquariums)

Ideal For:

• Coldwater aquariums or pond setups
• Community tanks with other peaceful, fast-swimming fish
• Natural pest control in ponds

Note: Golden Shiners can reproduce in ponds and may school with other minnow species. They are excellent for beginners due to their resilience and low maintenance needs.
