We take pride in providing healthy, high-quality freshwater fish, shrimp, snails, and other livestock. To help ensure the best experience, please review our livestock purchase policy before purchasing.
🚫 Live Fish & Livestock Shipping Update
At this time, Tropical Treasures Wyo is no longer shipping live fish or other live animals. Freshwater fish, shrimp, snails, and other livestock are available for in-store purchase or local pickup only at our Cheyenne, Wyoming store.
We made this decision to better protect livestock health and reduce the risks caused by carrier delays, weather changes, and shipping stress.
✅ In-Store & Local Pickup Livestock Policy
All livestock should be inspected at the time of purchase or pickup. Once livestock leaves our store, we cannot control transportation, acclimation, tank conditions, water parameters, or compatibility with existing tankmates.
Please make sure your aquarium is cycled, stable, and ready before purchasing fish, shrimp, snails, or other live animals.
📦 Local Pickup Orders
- Live fish and livestock are available for local pickup only when listed online.
- Please pick up livestock orders during store hours unless other arrangements have been approved.
- Livestock orders cannot be held long-term.
- Please transport livestock directly home and avoid leaving bags in extreme heat or cold.
🐟 Acclimation Reminder
Our pH runs around 7.4. We recommend acclimating new livestock slowly and avoiding adding bag water into your aquarium.
- Float the sealed bag for 15–20 minutes to match temperature.
- Open the bag and gently place the fish and bag water into a clean container.
- Slowly add small amounts of aquarium water over about 20 minutes.
- Net the fish and gently transfer them into the aquarium.
💧 Water Quality Requirements
Many livestock issues are caused by unstable or unsafe water conditions. We strongly recommend testing your aquarium water before adding new fish or invertebrates.
- Ammonia: 0 ppm
- Nitrite: 0 ppm
- Nitrate: Keep within a safe range for your livestock
- Temperature: Appropriate for the species purchased
- Tank must be cycled and stable before adding livestock
🐌 Special Note on Snails
Mystery snails and nerite snails may remain inactive for a period of time after being moved to a new aquarium. Place them in a quiet area of the tank and monitor them. If you have concerns, contact us as soon as possible.
🔁 Refunds, Replacements & Concerns
Because we are no longer shipping live livestock, our shipped livestock Live Arrival Guarantee is not active at this time.
If you have a concern after purchasing livestock in-store or through local pickup, please contact us as soon as possible. Photos, receipt information, and a current water sample may be required before any replacement, refund, or store credit is considered.
Refunds, replacements, or store credit are not guaranteed and are reviewed case by case.
