Description: The Peruvian Red Pencilfish (Nannostomus mortenthaleri), also known as the Coral Red Pencilfish, is one of the most striking species of pencilfish. With its bright red body, dark horizontal stripes, and peaceful nature, this nano schooling fish makes a brilliant addition to planted and community aquariums. Originating from Peru’s blackwater streams, these fish thrive in well-planted aquariums with soft, slightly acidic water and are best kept in groups of 8 or more to encourage their natural shoaling behavior.
